Fox news

This video is about the Black Panther voter intimidation case that occurred in Philadelphia during the 2008 Presidential Election. This video is an example of the prejudiced outlook that Fox news gives its viewers because when Kirsten Powers, a Democrat, attempts to give her viewpoint on the situation, Megyn Kelly interrupts and does not allow her to complete her thoughts because Powers disagrees with Kelly’s or the Republican Party’s view of the situation. Additionally, in Outfoxed it was mentioned that Fox news, while they have representatives from the Democratic Party come to speak on their news casts, they are usually quite conservative Democrats. This news casting is no different as Kirsten Powers is considered a conservative Democrat.

Looking at this video with Herman and Chomsky’s Propaganda Model, it can be said that a filter evident in this video is that of the first filter which says ownership, size, and dictates what the news station will show their viewers and how it will be represented. In this case, Megyn Kelly and the conservative columnist are showing Democrats in a negative light and as being “lazy” by saying they do not want to deal with the facts of the case while portraying their own view as the better opinion.
